STOP PRESS! theConsumer.com.au

Hi Everyone!

Please note that I will be moving my blog to a new site over the coming weeks. Of course beauty and skincare products will always be top of the list, but I want to add travel, wedding and shopping tips to the mix.  I have some very exciting projects on the go, and more professional name is required.

I decided to call my new site theConsumer.com.au.  It is up and running now.   I will be moving Twitter, YouTube and my feeds in the near future.  The MsSparkleArkle accounts will remain, but all new posts will be on the new website.

There will be some exciting giveaways to celebrate the new site soon too!  So be sure to keep an eye on my blog.

Thank you all for your support, and I can’t wait to see you on the new channels.

Lancome – Rouge In Love

I had the pleasure of seeing the Lancome Rouge in Love range at Myer Melbourne last week.  First impression?  WOW!  I walked away with three lipsticks and a nail polish.

This is a range that has intense colour, with 6 hours of staying power.  The lipsticks are still moist and comfortable to wear.  I have never tried anything like it before.  I’m in love!

The lipstick range has three stages of intensity.  They are:

Jolis Matins: Fresh shades for daytime wear. Jolis Matins shades are identified with the letter M in the shade number.

Boudoir Time: Pop shades for cocktail hour. Bourdoir Time shades are identified with the letter B in the shade number.

Tonight is My Night: Intense shades for magical nights. Tonight is My Night shades are identified with the letter N in the shade number.

I have 181N, 377N, 163M, and the nail polish in 112B.  I filmed a short video for my YouTube Channel, and you can see my in depth review and swatches of the shades there.

Located in the heart of Melbourne in a classic heritage terrace at 285 Little Collins Street, this is your quintessential beauty, spa and wellness destination.  Once inside you’ll find three floors which are designed as a one-stop salon.  Take a look at the decor below!

I was first introduced to the services that MISS FOX has to offer while attending a Melbourne Beauty Blogger Event (MBBE) last year.  The event was beautifully catered and I was able to try out a manicure, and have a hand exfoliation and massage.  I would highly recommend MISS FOX for your personal needs AND for private functions such as employee rewards, hen’s nights and baby showers.  There are also gift vouchers available which make a wonderful present for someone special.

From massage to makeup services, MISS FOX uses some of the finest and most exclusive professional beauty, hair, wellness and anti-ageing ranges in the world.

Exclusive to MISS FOX is the lavish organic spa range from Shiffa (Dubai) featuring real 24K gold, and rare ruby, diamond, emerald and sapphire gemstones. Inspired by ancient Arabia, Shiffa’s luxurious body and hair oils, creams, scrubs and treatments combine the most precious natural ingredients with exceptional results.  I can personally vouch for the gorgeous Shiffa Body Oil.  I feel like a princess after application, and waltz around my bedroom repeating ‘delightful, delightful’ (results not typical, individual results may vary).

All skin products used at MISS FOX are of the highest quality and contain naturally-derived ingredients free of petrochemicals, parabens, artificial colours and synthetic fragrances, and are not tested on animals. This makes me happy to recommend the services at MISS FOX to any of my friends and colleagues.  The mineral range from Jane Iredale is also stocked at MISS FOX, and you won’t be a able to resist swatching the testers as you pass by.

MISS FOX is proud to offer a premier selection of nail services (BioSculpture Gel, MINX Nails and Shellac), premium hair styling (Cloud 9 thermal tools), flawless sunless tanning (St Tropez, Summer Tan), eye and brow grooming (LashPerfect Extensions, Brow Theory Threading) weight loss and wellness services (Shrinc Clinic, UltraLite, Bioceuticals, Ionithermie) and non invasive body and skin enhancement using the world’s leading medical aesthetic equipment (VelaShape).

My first experience with ‘Lust Have It’

Here is a peek inside what was in the March 2012 ‘Lust Have It’ box.  I am a new subscriber to this service, and this was my first box.  The packaging is simple, fuss free.  There was a good range of products enclosed, but I need a few more months to compare value for money.

The cost of subscription is AUD $14.95 per month, although I signed up for an annual deal as part of a promotion.  You can visit their website here.

SILK Oil of Morocco – Makeup

Recently I filmed a review of the SILK Oil of Morocco mineral foundation, mineral powder and organic cold pressed Argan Oil.  I’ve posted that video below.  For this post, I’ve included information about the Liquid Foundation only.

Silk Oil of Morocco Liquid Mineral Foundation Infused with Certified Organic Argan Oil

Silk Oil Of Morocco Liquid Mineral Foundation

Here is what they say about the liquid foundation:

This new generation mineral liquid foundation performs like make-up but looks after the skin like skin care. A lightweight, longwearing formula that offers a natural matte finish with medium buildable coverage and all of the anti- ageing properties of Certified Organic Argan Oil. Sets to soft light reflecting finish. Infused with Argan Oil, Vitamin E, Jojoba Oil.

Benefits:

  • Infused with Certified Organic Argan oil
  • Light weight long wearing
  • Medium coverage that is buildable
  • Aloe Vera juice is the base rather than water
  • making the foundation longer lasting
  • Natural sun protection
  • Paraben free
  • Can be used as a concealer
  • Light reflecting pigments
  • Can be worn alone or is the perfect companion for Oil of Morocco Powder Foundation

Key Ingredients

Certified Organic Argan Oil Key active ingredient provides hydration to the skin and contains many vitamins and fatty acids that have amazing healing properties. In particular, Vitamin E and Lineoic Acids help protect the skin from oxidisation (aging), environmental pollution and harsh UV rays. It is non-greasy and light.
Shea Butter Derived from the karite fruit on the African mangifolia tree; heals, soothes, protects and adds shine to hair.
Tocopheral (Vitamin E) Heals, rejuvenates, softens, soothes and protects. A powerful anti-oxidant that reduces the aging process.
Aloe Vera Derived from the aloe leaf; rich in vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, proteins, humectants, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties.

The verdict:

I love that this foundation is natural and does not contain any nasty ingredients.  The formulation takes some getting used to, and takes an extra few seconds to blend, but the finish is worth it.  Works best when pared with the mineral powder.  I consider this to be a treatment foundation.

Where to buy:

TVSN has lots of packs available, with a 30 day money back guarantee.  Visit their site here
